Your PLEIO puck is initially given the default name N9600. Changing this name makes it easier to identify your device when casting from a phone or managing your home network.
There are two ways to access the setting, depending on whether you have just finished setting up your puck or if you are changing the name later.
Method 1: Changing the Name for the First Time
If you haven't closed the prompt within system settings, a suggestion will be available:
Navigate to the System Settings via the gear icon on your remote control.
Look for and select the Suggestions option near the top of the menu.
Select the suggestion to change the device name and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the change.
Method 2: Changing the Name Later
If you have already set changed this in the past, follow the below steps:
Navigate to the System Settings via the gear icon on your remote control.
Select Device Preferences.
Select About.
Navigate to and select Device Name.
Select Change to enter a custom name or one of the predefined names.
Follow the on-screen prompts to enter your new, memorable name for your puck.
Once complete, your device will appear with its new name on all connected devices, such as your mobile phone when casting.
