What is Google Assistant?

Updated this week

The built-in Google Assistant makes finding what you want to watch and controlling your TV quicker and easier than ever. Simply speak into your remote to ask questions, search for content, or launch apps.

How to use the Google Assistant

Using the Google Assistant is straightforward:

  1. Press the Google Assistant button on your PLEIO remote. The button is marked with a small microphone icon.

  2. Hold the remote close to your mouth and wait for the 'I'm listening' message to appear on the screen.

  3. Speak your command clearly into the remote's microphone. The Assistant will process your request and display the results on the screen.

What you can ask the Assistant

The Google Assistant is a powerful tool with a wide range of commands. Here are some examples of what you can ask for:

Open Apps and Channels

Jump straight into your favourite app or live channel without having to navigate through menus.

  • 'Open Netflix.'

  • 'Go to Channel 5.'

  • 'Open YouTube.'

Control Your TV

Adjust your TV's settings with a simple voice command.

  • 'Turn the volume up.'

  • 'Mute the TV.'

Get Answers and Information

Ask the Assistant anything you'd normally search for on your phone.

  • 'What's the weather like in London?'

  • 'Tell me about the FA Cup Final.'

  • 'How do you spell 'rhododendron'?'
