Setting Up Recording

How to set up the recording function on BetterTV

Updated over a week ago

To record your favourite programmes, you'll need a USB stick with 32GB-1TB storage capacity. We recommend using a SanDisk USB stick for the best recording experience.

Setting up USB recording

Format your USB (on Windows):

  1. Insert your USB stick into your computer

  2. Right-click the USB drive and select 'Format'

  3. Choose 'NTFS' as the file system and tick 'Quick Format'

Best USB sticks for recording

We recommend SanDisk USB sticks for reliable recording performance. Other compatible brands work too, but SanDisk offers the best experience with your BetterTV device.

Requirements:

  • Storage: 32GB to 1TB

  • Format: NTFS (you'll need to format it first)

  • Type: USB stick only (hard drives won't work)

Where recordings are saved

Your recordings are stored directly on your USB stick and can be found in the 'Recordings' menu on your BetterTV device.

Important notes:

  • Recordings can only be watched on the device where they were recorded

  • Hard disk drives (HDDs) cannot be used for recording

  • Make sure your USB has enough space for your recordings
