How to Set Up Port Forwarding on brsk Routers

Port forwarding allows external devices to access specific services on your home network (e.g., CCTV, gaming servers, remote desktop).
Before you start, please note:

Important:
brsk uses Carrier-Grade NAT (CGNAT) for all residential customers, which means you don’t have a public IPv4 address.
This makes standard port forwarding unavailable by default.

What You’ll Need Before Starting

  • The port number you want to forward (between 1–65535).

  • The protocol required (TCP, UDP, or both).

  • The IP address of the device you want to forward traffic to. To avoid future issues, we recommend setting a static IP for this device.


Set up Port Forwarding for Technicolor Router

If you have a black Technicolor router, follow these steps:

Step 1: Log in to Your Router

Step 2: Go to WAN Services

  • From the dashboard, click WAN Services.

  • Click + Add new IPv4 port mapping.

Step 3: Configure Port Mapping

Enter the following details:

  • Name: For identification only.

  • Protocol: TCP, UDP, or both.

  • WAN Port: The external port number.

  • LAN Port: The internal port number.

  • Source IP: (Optional) Limit access to a specific IP.

  • Destination IP: Internal IP of the device.

Step 4: Save the Rule

  • Click the + icon to add the rule.

  • Repeat for additional ports.

  • Click Close when done.

Enable DMZ (Optional & Advanced)

Warning: DMZ exposes a device fully to the internet, which increases security risks. Only use if absolutely necessary.

  • Go to WAN Services → Settings.

  • Enable DMZ.

  • Select or enter the device IP.

  • Click Save.


Set Up Port Forwarding for Icotera Router


If you have the white Icotera router, follow these steps:

Step 1: Log in to Your Router

  • Go to 192.168.12.1 in a browser.

  • Default login:

    • Username: admin

    • Password: admin

Step 2: Navigate to Port Forwarding

  • Under Services, select Port Forwarding.

  • Ensure Enabled is ticked.

Step 3: Create Port Forward Rules

  • Name: Identifier for the rule.

  • Protocol: TCP, UDP, or both.

  • Ext. Ports: External port.

  • Int. IP: Device IP.

  • Int. Port: Internal port.

  • Loopback: Check if needed for internal access.

Step 4: Apply & Save

  • Click ApplyContinueSave.

Enable DMZ (Optional & Advanced)

Warning: Use DMZ only if you understand the risks.

  • Go to Services → DMZ.

  • Enable DMZ.

  • Enter device IP and description.

  • Click SaveApply.


Set Up Port Forwarding for TP-Link Router

Follow these steps if you have a TP-Link router provided by brsk:

Step 1: Log in to Your Router

  • Open a browser and go to 192.168.0.1.

  • Enter your login credentials.

Step 2: Navigate to NAT Forwarding

  • Click the Advanced tab.

  • On the left menu, select NAT ForwardingVirtual Servers.

Step 3: Add a Port Forwarding Rule

  • Click Add or + to create a new rule.

  • Fill in the details:

    • Service Type: e.g., CCTV.

    • External Port: Port exposed to the internet.

    • Internal IP: IP of the device on your network.

    • Internal Port: Port on the internal device.

    • Protocol: Choose TCP, UDP, or All.

Step 4: Save the Settings

  • Click OK to save the rule.

  • Repeat for additional ports if needed.


Set up Port Forwarding for the Brsk Hub


Let certain devices (like security cameras or gaming consoles) connect directly through your Hub.

To set it up:

  • First, you need to set a fixed IP address for the device you’re port forwarding. You can find the device’s IP and MAC address on the home screen.

  • Now go to Settings > LAN to access Reserved Address

  • Click on Add Reserved Address

  • Select the device MAC and click Apply. The IP address will be filled in for you.

  • Now go back to the home page and select Access Control

  • Select Port Forwarding and add rules manually at the bottom of the page

Using the website www.portforward.com you can look up the required TCP and UDP Ports.

  • Enter the details and select Apply (Local IP/Remote IP is your device IP).

  • The Rule has now been added and is shown at the bottom of the screen.
