The 6-stage installation process
The 6-stage installation process
Stage 1: Infrastructure Assessment & Clearing
We begin by surveying existing infrastructure in your area. We use existing pipes and manholes where we can - this means less digging and disruption for you. Our team cleans out these pathways and make sure they're ready for the new fibre cables.
Stage 2: Network Construction
Sometimes, we need to build new infrastructure if existing infrastructure doesn't cover your entire area. This means putting up new poles, digging trenches, and installing street cabinets. We'll tidy up afterwards and make sure your area looks good as new as we maintain high standards for site restoration.
Stage 3: Fibre Cable Installation
Next, we install the actual fibre cables. We run them through the pipes, string them between poles, and connect them to the street cabinets.
Stage 4: Network Splicing & Connection
Splicing means connecting the fibre cables together. It's like welding, but for very thin glass fibres. We connect all the cables so your area links back to our main hub in London.
Stage 5: Testing
We test everything to make sure it works properly and delivers the speeds we promise.
Stage 6: Go Live!
Your area is now ready for fibre! We'll start booking home installations. Learn more about getting fibre installed in your home.

Street works and installation permissions
Street works and installation permissions
Brsk operates under full legal authority to install fibre infrastructure in your area.
Our infrastructure, including telegraph poles and street cabinets, qualifies as permitted development under the Town & Country Planning Act 2015. This means we don't require specific planning permission for these installations.
Despite not requiring permission, we maintain ongoing dialogue with local authorities regarding, its infrastructure roll-out plans and its methods of deployment.
Minimising New Infrastructure
We prioritise using existing infrastructure wherever possible through agreements with current asset owners. New telegraph poles are only installed where existing infrastructure cannot provide full coverage.

The roll-out of new full fibre networks requires full-scale construction works and therefore can take many months to complete. Be sure to register your interest in the project to receive regular email updates as the project progresses.

You can find out the status of brsk fibre at your address by using our network status tools.
Check Your Area Status
Visit our network rollout map and search for your specific location.
Status Indicators:
🔘 Grey: Coming soon - planning and preparation phase
🔵 Blue: In build - active construction underway
🩷 Pink: Live and ready - available for home installation
Planning Tip: Keep your current broadband service active until your Brsk installation is complete and tested as unforeseen obstacles can cause delays in construction.
Requesting a pole relocation
Requesting a pole relocation
Can I request a pole to be moved?
Our poles are carefully placed to make sure everyone in your area can get fibre. We work with the council to choose the best locations.
Moving a pole might mean other people in your area can't get fibre. The poles are positioned based on detailed planning to give everyone coverage.
