**Not all companies support the 'porting' (transfer) of phone numbers, so in some rare instances you may not be able to keep your number - in these cases, we'll issue a new phone number to you.

BetterPhone is designed to work with analogue telephone handsets so you can use the same device that you would have with a traditional fixed telephone line - if you need to purchase a new handset to use with the service please ensure it is analogue as VoIP telephone handsets are not supported.

If you would like to keep your existing number there is a once-off fee, as per our price book, which will be charged as soon as your order is placed.

Because your BetterPhone service works over Internet protocol, if there is a broadband outage, this service will also go down. We, therefore suggest that you have an alternative phone service that does work in an outage, such as a mobile phone.
