If you are using the white Icotera router that brsk installed, please take a look at this article.

Noticed your WiFi signal is weak or slow where it used to be strong?

Please follow the below troubleshooting steps, if you are using the black Technicolor DGA0122 router that brsk installed with a white Technicolor OWA0131 mesh.

Check your BetterWiFi is powered on

As simple as it sounds, it's an easy thing to miss and may be the reason you're seeing weaker-than-normal WiFi coverage!

  1. Check the lights on the top of the unit

  2. Check the switch on the back of the WiFi mesh is pressed in.

  3. Make sure the power supply is connected to a working mains socket and is switched on.

  4. Check the cable is free from damage and is securely connected to the back of the WiFi mesh.

If your WiFi mesh still shows no sign of life, there may be an issue with it. Please contact support via support@brsk.co.uk or 02039 255 299 for further assistance.

Check the signal of your WiFi mesh

The light on the top of your WiFi mesh will indicate the signal in that area

  • Green is ideal.

  • Orange is acceptable if you are constrained with where you can place the mesh node (ideally you should put it closer to the router).

  • Red is not ideal and the mesh AP should be moved closer to your router

Has anything changed?

If something in your home has changed then this could be causing your service to be slow.

Examples of things that could affect your service are:

  1. Either your router or WiFi mesh have been moved

  2. An obstruction has been placed near your router or WiFi mesh (generally something metallic or electronic)

  3. A new device has been connected to your network

Try to revert to how things were set up before you started seeing issues and see if that helps.

Try resetting your WiFi mesh

Your WiFi mesh may have lost settings and isn't able to connect. Resetting and reconnecting it may get it back up and running again.

  1. Unplug your WiFi mesh and reconnect it to power next to the main router.

  2. Using a paperclip or another thin object, press and hold the Reset button on the back of the WiFi mesh for 5 seconds.

  3. Your WiFi mesh will now reset and you can continue to reconnect it using the steps below.

Ethernet cable method

Follow these steps to reconnect your WiFi mesh with an ethernet cable.

  1. Connect the WiFi mesh to the main router with an ethernet cable, plugging into port 1 on both devices.

  2. Your WiFi mesh will now reset and reconfigure. Please wait 5-10 minutes for this process to complete.

  3. Once complete, the light on the top of the WiFi mesh will go green.

Wireless method

Follow these steps to reconnect your WiFi mesh wirelessly.

  1. Wait until your WiFi mesh's light on the top is flashing slowly yellow.

  2. Press the top button on your WiFi mesh then press the WPS pairing button on the side of your router. The mesh's light will flash slowly green during the pairing process.

  3. Wait 2-3 minutes for the pairing process to complete

  4. Once complete, the WiFi mesh's light will be solid orange.

  5. You can now disconnect the ethernet cable and put the WiFi mesh back in its original position.

  6. Once powered back on, it may take 5-10 minutes for it to fully reconnect. Again, the light on the top will go green once it's reconnected.
