Before answering this question, I would like to give you a little background about the brsk debit orders.
At brsk there are 3 dates to select from when setting up your debit order. These are the 1st, 16th, and 25th. You can only select one of these dates and it is therefore best to select either the date you get paid on or a date that falls after you get your salary.
โ
For example, if you get paid on the 24th of every month it is a good idea to select the 25th as your debit order date. Because the 24th isn't one of brsk's set debit order dates, we will not be able to take your subscription fee on this date. Setting it for the 25th means that you would have already received your salary and should have the available funds for the brsk debit order.
When your selected billing date comes around, such as the 25th as in the above example, brsk will send a request to your bank to collect your subscription fee on that day. This is done through BACS (Bankers Automated Clearing Services). It can take up to 3 days for brsk to collect this fee.
Why 3 days?
On the first day, brsk sends a request to BACS to collect the money from your bank.
On the second day, your bank begins to process this transaction. There are checks and balances that your bank needs to do in order to ensure everything is correct.
On the third day, your bank releases the funds and brsk is then able to collect your subscription fee. Your debit order has now successfully cleared.
Can it take longer than 3 days?
Yes, it can. It can take up to 14 days if brsk is collecting your subscription fee for the first time. This also includes instances where you have updated your banking details.
