Our BetterBusiness packages come with a gigabit-capable router if one is required. However, if you want to be able to use the full potential of your 2Gbps connection, we would recommend you use your own 2Gbps-capable router.

For our 2Gbps package, it's crucial to ensure that your router can handle higher speeds. We strongly advise you to verify whether your chosen router supports a port speed of 2.5Gbps. Some older routers that are capable of 10Gbps may not negotiate at this speed, potentially limiting your connectivity by either failing to connect at all or operating at a reduced speed of 1Gbps.

When it comes to Wi-Fi, it's important to understand that achieving 2Gbps speeds is highly unlikely, even with the latest Wi-Fi technology standards such as Wi-Fi 7. Several factors can impede Wi-Fi speeds, such as device capability and the local environment.

To fully utilize your connection's capacity, we recommend using an Ethernet connection. However, please be aware that the speed may still be limited as many devices currently support only 1Gbps over Ethernet. Your end devices will also need to have at least a 2.5Gbps ethernet port and be powerful enough to get the full speed offered.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer specific router recommendations. If you require assistance in choosing a router that best aligns with your requirements, we suggest reaching out to an IT consultant. They can assess your usage patterns and recommend a router that will best suit your needs.
