There are many keys on the remote and as well as various functionalities, so below we will be explaining the main keys and their functionalities. In case you are looking for a full key map of the remote, please click here.

Opens the Freeview Explore application.

An application that grants you access to another user interface containing shows and programmes from Freeview's live channels and applications.

Opens the My TV area on your set-top box.

The My TV area is your personalised space with series, movies and channel recommendations, as well as favourite channels, last watched on-demand and your recordings.

Opens a page that will ask if you would like to record a series or episode.

Please note that you will need to have a live Freeview channel playing for the record key to work. Additionally, a USB stick will have to be setup and inserted into the back of the set-top box before you can start using the recording feature. In most cases Freeview programmes are already available on the catch-up for that channel, so don't need to be recorded at all. Opens the TV Guide, to display the programme schedule for each channel.

Channels listed between 1 and 830 will require an aerial to view them through your set-top box, whereas channels listed between 831 and 999 are available through an internet connection.

You can scroll up and down through the programme guide using the arrow keys, plus move left & right through the times of day as well. Pressing OK will show more information about the highlighted programme and allow you to start watching it with a second click of OK.

Did you know that you can easily switch between past and future day's programme schedules, up to 7 days into the future/past, by pressing the rewind and fast forward keys on your remote?

The rewind and fast forward keys can also be used to easily switch between areas on your set-top box. For example, from FreeviewPlay to Extra Channels or even further to the left to All apps.

The pause/play button between the two keys can be used to pause on-demand programmes or start timeshifting on live channels. Pressing the key once more will resume the on-demand programme or live show.

You can also use the Home key to exit applications. An alternative for exiting applications would be the back key.
