As you may have noticed, your Better TV service has a variety of areas for you to access, which are displayed at the top of your TV screen.

To switch between each area, it is advised to use the rewind and fast forward keys on your remote to move to the left and right respectively. You can do this wherever you are on the page, so it saves scrolling back up each time! When moving to a new area, the focus will shift to it, indicating which area you are currently on. On the above image, the focus is on the 'FreeviewPlay' area.

If you are unsure what you would like to watch, visit the genre areas to the right of the Home page (FreeviewPlay). There you will find rows of programmes from live and internet-based channels, on-demand videos and applications, all grouped by the specified genre at the top.

If you know what you are looking for, then you should visit the areas to the left of the Home page (FreeviewPlay). Here is what you can expect to find in each of the left-hand side areas:

  • My TV - your personalised area with recommendations, favourite channels, last watched on-demand and recordings.

  • Extra Channels - all of the 130+ internet-based channels will be found here, where channels are grouped by genre and displayed as individual rows.

  • Search - the universal search feature will help you find out which channel or application you can visit, to watch a specific programme, show or movie. If you have an Alexa device paired with your set-top box, you can use voice commands to improve your searching experience. You can also navigate the service using Alexa voice commands.

  • All apps - as the name suggests, all of the available applications can be found here. They are grouped by the theme mentioned at the top of each row. Please note that you cannot download new apps, but our content team are always reaching out to new app providers to add onto the service.
