Understanding your brsk bills
Understanding your brsk bills
Let's break down your brsk bill so you know exactly what you're paying for.
At the top of your invoice: You'll find your invoice number (like INV-000001), the date your bill was created, and when we'll collect payment from your account. Payment collection can take up to 3 working days from the collection date shown.
Service breakdown: Each service you have with brsk appears as a separate line item. For example, you might see "Broadband BetterNet500 Contract" with the price broken down into the amount excluding VAT, the VAT portion, and the total amount including VAT.
Amount due: This shows whether your payment has been collected successfully. If it shows £0 in "AMOUNT DUE," we've successfully collected your payment. If there's an amount showing, this indicates an outstanding balance that needs to be paid.
Pro-rata charges explained: Sometimes you'll see "Pro-rata charge" usually at the start of service - this covers the period from when your service started until your next regular billing date. This ensures you only pay for the exact days you've used the service.
Special offers: Your invoice will show if you're in a promotional period or if any discounts have been applied.

What are pro-rata charges?
What are pro-rata charges?
Pro-rata charges ensure you only pay for the exact days you use our service.
When pro-rata charges occur: These charges mostly occur when your service start date is different from your chosen monthly billing date. Instead of charging you for a full month when you've only had service for part of it, we calculate the exact cost for the days you've actually used.
Example scenario: Your service starts on December 12th, but you've chosen the 1st as your monthly billing date. Your first bill covers December 12th-31st (20 days), so you're charged for exactly 20 days of service rather than a full month.
After the first pro-rata bill: From your next billing date onwards, you'll receive regular full monthly bills. The pro-rata charge is typically just a one-time adjustment to align your service with your preferred billing schedule.
Pro-rata during promotions: If you're in a free promotional period, your pro-rata charges might be £0 for the days covered by your promotion, with charges only applying to days outside the promotional period.
Your invoice will clearly show the date range covered by any pro-rata charges, making it easy to see exactly what period you're being billed for.

Understanding charges during promotional periods
Seeing charges during your free period? Here's why this happens.
How promotional periods work: Your free period starts from the day your service goes live (when you can actually use your internet), not from when you placed your order. This ensures you only start using your free months when you're actually benefiting from the service.
Why you might see charges: If you've chosen a specific billing date (1st, 16th, or 25th) that's different from your activation date, you might receive a small pro-rata charge for the days that fall outside your promotional period.
Example: Let's say your service goes live on June 27th, you've chosen the 1st as your billing date, and you have 3 months free. Your free period runs from June 27th to September 27th.
You'll receive bills for £0 in July, August, and September. However, your September bill might include a small charge for September 27th-30th, since those days fall after your promotional period ends but within your September billing cycle.
