Can You Use Port Forwarding on brsk?
Most brsk customers are on CGNAT (Carrier Grade NAT), which means your connection doesn’t have its own public IP address. Instead, multiple customers share one. It’s great for security and efficiency but it blocks traditional port forwarding.
To enable it, you’ll need one of the following:
BetterIP: Our add-on gives you your own public IPv4 address. Learn more here or contact sales at sales@brsk.co.uk / 0330 191 4332.
BetterBusiness: All business packages come with a public IP by default.
Don’t want to add either? You can still access your home devices remotely using:
IPv6 – brsk connections support IPv6. If your devices do too, you can connect to them remotely from other IPv6-enabled networks.
Overlay networks like Tailscale – Free, private networking tools that don’t need port forwarding at all.
Troubleshooting by Router
Let’s look at how to manage port forwarding on your router model.

Step 1: Log In
Open a browser and follow our router login guide.
Step 2: Go to WAN Services
Once you’re in, click the WAN Services tab on the homepage.
Step 3: Check Port Forwarding Rules
You’ll see a table with existing rules. Check:
Is the rule enabled? A green toggle means it’s active.
Are you using the correct protocol? Choose TCP, UDP, or both depending on what the app needs.
Are you forwarding the correct port number? Make sure the external (WAN) and internal (LAN) ports are set properly.
Is it the accurate destination IP? The destination IP should match the device inside your home.
Have you entered the correct Source IP or MAC address? If you’re limiting access to a specific device or network, double check those details.
Click Add to create a new rule. Use Apply to save changes.
