Set Up Static DHCP Leases

Want to set up static DHCP leases on your brsk router? Here's how!

Updated over a month ago

Static DHCP lease reserves a local IP address for a device based on its MAC address. This means that each time the device connects to your network, it will be assigned the same IP by your router. It’s easier and safer than manually configuring a static IP on the device itself.

TP-Link Router (White)

Step 1: Log In to Your Router

  • Open a browser and go to 192.168.0.1

  • Enter your admin password. If you haven’t set one yet, you’ll be prompted to create one

Step 2: Find LAN Settings

  • Click the Advanced tab

  • In the menu on the left, go to Network > LAN Settings

Step 3: Set the Static Lease

  • Scroll to Address Reservation and click + Add

  • Enter the MAC address of the device, or click Scan to detect it

  • Enter the IP address you want to reserve

  • Click OK to save your settings

Your device will now always get the same IP address when it connects.

Technicolor Router (Black)

Step 1: Log In to Your Router

Follow the steps in our Technicolor login guide.

Step 2: Find Your Device

  • Click on Devices

  • Search for the device name and make a note of its MAC address

  • If you don’t see the device listed, you can find the MAC address in the device’s network settings

Step 3: Add a Static Lease

  • Go to Local Network

  • Scroll to Static Leases and click Add new static lease

  • Fill in the following:

    • Hostname

    • MAC address (select or enter manually)

    • IP address (must be within your LAN’s range)

  • Click the green tick to save

Reboot or reconnect the device if the lease doesn’t apply right away.

Icotera Router (White)

Step 1: Log In to Your Router

Follow the steps in our Icotera login guide.

Step 2: Find Your Device

  • Click LAN under the Status menu

  • Locate your device and make note of its MAC address

  • If not visible, find the MAC address in the device’s network settings

Step 3: Add a Static Lease

  • Scroll to the Static Leases section

  • Fill in the following:

    • Hostname

    • MAC address

    • IP address (within your LAN range)

    • Check Enable

  • Click Add, then Save, and finally Apply

Once saved, your device will use the same IP address each time it connects. If it doesn’t apply right away, double-check the MAC address or reboot the device.
