Setting Up Your BetterWiFi System

Get your mesh network running in minutes

Setting up BetterWiFi is straightforward - just follow the steps for your router type below.

First, Identify Your Router Type

Black Technicolor DGA0122 Router

  • Rectangular black router with "brsk" branding

  • WPS button on the left side

  • Use the "Technicolor Mesh Setup" instructions below

White Icotera i4850 Router

  • White rectangular router

  • No physical WPS button

  • Use the "Icotera Mesh Setup" instructions below

White Brsk Wi-Fi 7 Hub + White Boosters

  • New white Brsk WiFi 7 Hub

  • Advanced Brsk boosters with WPS button in front

  • 1G and 2.5G LAN ports behind

  • Use "Brsk Boosters Setup" below


Technicolor Mesh Setup

Step 1: Prepare for pairing

  1. Place your mesh node close to your Technicolor router

  2. Connect the mesh node to power and wait 30 seconds

  3. The top light should start flashing slowly yellow

Step 2: Connect the devices

  1. Press the button on top of your mesh node

  2. Immediately press the WPS button on the left side of your Technicolor router

  3. Watch for these lights:

    • Mesh node light flashes green

    • Router WPS light flashes orange

  4. Wait 2-3 minutes for pairing to complete

  5. Success! The mesh node light will turn solid orange

Step 3: Find the perfect spot

  1. Move your mesh node to where you need better WiFi coverage

  2. Aim for halfway between your router and the problem area

  3. Turn it on and check the light colour:

    • Green: Perfect spot, excellent signal

    • Orange: Good spot, acceptable signal

    • Red: Too far away, move closer to router

Step 4: Test your connection Go to the area where you previously had poor WiFi and test your internet speed on your phone or laptop. You should now have strong, fast WiFi!


Icotera Mesh Setup

Step 1: Connect with ethernet

  1. Place your mesh node next to your Icotera router

  2. Connect them with an ethernet cable (port 1 on both devices)

  3. Turn on your mesh node

Step 2: Watch the pairing process The mesh node lights will change as it connects:

  • Flashing white: Starting up (wait 1-2 minutes)

  • Flashing yellow: Getting network settings- trying to obtain IP address (should be quick)

  • Solid blue: Successfully paired!

This takes 2-4 minutes. If you see other colors, the mesh node may be updating - just wait for it to finish.

Step 3: Find the perfect spot

  1. Once paired, turn off your mesh node

  2. Move it to where you need better WiFi (halfway between router and problem area works well)

  3. Turn it back on and wait for a solid white light

  4. Press the WiFi button once if the light doesn't appear

Step 4: Check signal strength

  1. Double-press the WiFi button on the side of your mesh node

  2. Check the light color:

    • Green: Perfect signal strength

    • Blue: Good signal, move closer if possible

    • Yellow: Acceptable for hard-to-reach areas

Step 5: Test your connection Visit the area where you had poor WiFi and test your internet on your phone or laptop. Enjoy your improved coverage!


Brsk Booster Setup


Get to know your booster

Step 1: Power on your booster

Plug in and power on the BetterWifi Booster

  • White flashing = starting up

  • Red flashing = ready to pair with your hub

Step 2: Place your booster near your brsk hub

Step 3: Press and hold WPS button on the Hub (3 seconds)

Step 4: Then press WPS button on the BetterWifi Booster

  • Blue flashing = pairing

  • Green solid = paired

  • White solid = ready to move

  • Amber solid = pairing failed (try again, closer)

WPS = a shortcut to connect devices without typing passwords

Only pair one BetterWifi Booster at a time.

Step 5: Find the optimal position

  1. Unplug your booster once it shows solid white

  2. Move it to your chosen location (halfway between router and dead zone works best)

  3. Plug it back in and wait for the light to stabilise

Step 6: Check your connection

  1. Open a browser and type: http://192.168.1.1

  2. Username: admin

  3. Password: Check the label underneath the Hub

  4. Then go to Wi-Fi Mesh > Overview to see your signal quality (green = good!)

Tips for getting the best signal

  • Place it centrally and openly visible

  • Avoid hiding behind TVs or in cupboards

  • Mid-shelf height is ideal

  • Keep away from thick walls or large appliances

For tricky layouts or big homes, you can add a second BetterWifi Booster.
