Mesh and Booster Lights and Signals

Quick reference guide for mesh node lights

Use this guide to understand what your BetterWiFi mesh node is telling you.


Technicolor Mesh Nodes (White units with black router)

Normal Operation:

  • No light: Working perfectly (normal state)

  • Green light: Excellent signal strength to router

During Setup:

  • Flashing yellow: Ready to pair or pairing in progress

  • Flashing green: Pairing with router

  • Solid orange: Successfully paired, ready to position

Signal Strength Check:

  • Green: Optimal placement

  • Orange: Acceptable (move closer if possible)

  • Red: Too far from router, reposition needed

Problem Indicators:

  • No lights + no power: Check power connection

  • Stuck flashing yellow: Move closer to router or reset

Quick Troubleshooting by Light Colour

Either working normally or no power

Press WiFi button to check, or verify power connection

Green/Blue

Good connection

Nothing needed

Orange/Yellow

Acceptable connection

Move mesh closer to router if possible

Red/Purple

Poor connection

Move mesh much closer to router

Flashing patterns

Setup in progress

Wait for completion


Icotera Mesh Nodes (White units with white router)

Normal Operation:

  • No light: Working perfectly (press WiFi button once to check)

  • Solid white for 1 minute, then off: Healthy connection confirmed

During Setup:

  • Flashing white: Starting up (normal, wait 2-3 minutes)

  • Flashing yellow: Getting network settings (should be quick)

  • Solid blue: Successfully paired with router

Signal Strength Check (double-press WiFi button):

  • Green: Excellent signal

  • Blue: Good signal

  • Yellow: Acceptable signal

  • Purple: Weak signal, move closer to router

Problem Indicators:

  • Flashing red: Error state, contact support

  • Stuck flashing yellow: Connection issue, check cables or move closer

Normal Operation:

  • No light: Working perfectly (normal state)

  • Solid white: Healthy operation, good to move to final position

During Setup:

  • Flashing white: Starting up (wait 2-3 minutes)

  • Flashing red: Ready for pairing

  • Flashing blue: WPS pairing in progress

  • Solid green: Successfully paired, ready to position

Problem Indicators:

  • Solid red: Power supply issue or hardware problem

  • No light with power connected: Check power adapter type or contact support

Advanced Features (BRSK Hub dashboard only):

  • Signal quality percentages: Monitor via http://192.168.1.1

  • Band usage indicators: See which devices use 2.4GHz, 5GHz, or 6GHz

  • Multi-link operation status: Shows devices using multiple bands simultaneously
