This guide is for the Icotera i4850 router that brsk currently provides.
If you are using the black Technicolor router that brsk installed, please take a look at this article.

To confirm the model of your router, check the sticker on the back for the model number. It should read something like ‘i4850-00’.

Once you've had your brsk service installed, you may want to change your Wi-Fi network name to something different. You can also revert to your previous network name to smoothly move all devices already saved to your new network. This way you won't have to set up devices already connected via the old network name.

How to change your Wi-Fi network name and password:

  1. Log into your router by following the steps here.

  2. Once logged in, click on ‘Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n’ on the navigation bar on the left to change your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi radio.

  3. Once the page loads, scroll down to the ‘Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n APs’ section.

  4. To change your Wi-Fi name, type in the new name in the 'SSID' box.

    1. Please note: The SSID cannot exceed 32 characters and may consist of alphanumeric characters, spaces, and special characters such as ` ! @ # $ & * _ + - = [ ] : “ | ? , . / .

  5. To change your Wi-Fi password, type in your new password in the ‘Encryption key’ box.

    1. Check ‘Show password’ to see your password.

    2. Note: Your password is case-sensitive. Carefully check to make sure it’s entered correctly. If not, you will experience connectivity issues.

  6. Once you are happy with your changes, scroll to the bottom of the page and click ‘Apply’.

  7. Once the changes have been made, you will get a confirmation pop-up. Click ‘Continue’ and you’ll be taken back to the page you were previously on.

  8. To change your 5GHz radio, click on ‘Wi-Fi 802.11ac’ on the navigation bar on the left.

  9. Once the page loads scroll down to the ‘Wi-Fi 802.11ac’ section.

  10. Repeat steps 4 to 5 here.

    1. Please note: If you are wanting the same name for both Wi-Fi radios, we strongly suggest you ensure the password is the same for both as you may experience problems with connectivity.

    2. (Optional) You may wish to have a different Wi-Fi name for 5GHz (802.11ac). If this is the case, change the SSID entry to something else. For example, you may add the suffix ‘_5GHz’ to the end.

  11. Once you are happy with your changes, scroll to the bottom of the page and click ‘Apply’.

  12. Once the changes have been made, you will get a confirmation pop-up. Click ‘Continue’ and you’ll be taken back to the page you were previously on.

  13. If you’re happy with your settings, press “Save” at the bottom of the page

    1. This is an important step. Without doing this, you will lose your settings once you reboot your router.

  14. Reconnect your devices using the new Wi-Fi details.

If for some reason you are unable to reconnect to your Wi-Fi on any of your devices after performing the above steps, you will need to reset your router to its default settings. Please follow the instructions located here on how to do that.
