If you are using the white Icotera router that brsk installed, please take a look at this article.

Step 1: Pair your BetterWiFi mesh node to your Technicolor Wi-Fi Router

Please follow the steps below to connect your Brsk mesh devices:

  • Put the mesh node near the Technicolor router and connect it to power.

  • Wait around 30 seconds for the mesh node to power up until the top light is flashing slowly yellow.

  • Press the button on the top of the mesh node, then press the WPS button on the left side of the Technicolor router.

    • The light on the mesh node will begin to flash green

    • The WPS light on the router will begin to flash orange

  • Wait 2-3 minutes for the pairing to complete.

  • Once complete, the light on the top of the mesh node will be solid orange.

  • You can now move your mesh node into the optimal position. The colour of the light on the mesh node will indicate the signal quality.

    • Green: The mesh node is in an optimal position to get a good signal.

    • Orange: The mesh node is in a fair position to get a signal but should be moved closer to the router if possible.

    • Red: The mesh node is in a non-optimal position and should be moved closer to the router.

Step 2: Put the mesh node in the best position

Once the mesh node is successfully paired with the router it can be turned off and moved to its permanent location. Placing a mesh node halfway between the router and where poor coverage is experienced is a simple but effective way of improving coverage.

Turn the mesh node on in your selected location and wait for the light to go a solid colour

The colour of the light will tell you how good the signal strength is in your chosen location.

Signal Strength LED Colours:

  • Green is ideal.

  • Orange is acceptable if you are constrained with where you can place the mesh node (ideally you should put it closer to the router).

  • Red is not ideal and the mesh AP should be moved closer to your router.

Step 3: Test the mesh connection

Once you have placed the mesh node in a suitable location, go to where you have coverage problems and try to access the internet using your mobile phone or laptop to check that you are receiving coverage in that location.
