Connect devices to your Icotera router

Whether you're using a mobile phone, laptop, or TV, here’s how to get connected.

  1. Make sure the WAN (globe icon) light on your router is green.

  2. Open Wi-Fi settings on your device.

  3. Look for the network called FTTH_XXXX.

  4. Enter the WPA2 Key printed on the back of your router.

  5. Once connected, the Wi-Fi icon should turn green.

Tip: You can also scan the QR code on the back of the router to connect instantly.

Tip: For the strongest connection, use an Ethernet cable (we do not supply this) if your TV, computer or laptop is close to the router—just plug into any LAN port on the back.

Connect your Icotera router to your home phone

Step 1 - Check your current phone setup

You may have your phone plugged into the wall socket using an RJ11 - BT-style cable (most homes have this cable) see the image below of the cable.

To connect your home phone to your Icotera router, you'll need a cable with RJ11 connectors on both ends (as seen on the image below)

Premium ADSL/Fibre Broadband Cable - Premium Quality/Gold Plated Contact Pins/High Speed/Router or Modem to RJ11 Phone Socket or Microfilter for use ...

If you're unsure which cable to use, or you're having trouble connecting your phone, we can send you the right cable. Just get in touch: email us at support@brsk.co.uk or call us on 02039 255 291.

Step 2 - Connect your phone to router

If you have an RJ11 to RJ11 cable:

  1. Unplug your current cable from the phone.

  2. Plug one end of the RJ11 to RJ11 cable into your phone handset.

  3. Plug the other end into one of the VoIP/Phone ports on the back of the white Icotera router (see image below).

The white Icotera router has two VoIP/phone ports, located on the back of the unit (circled above). You can use either port, or even connect two phones—one in each port.

If you only have a BT-style plug:

You can either:

  • Use a plug adapter (see image below) that converts your BT plug to an RJ11 end, then plug that into the router, or replace the cable with an RJ11 to RJ11 cable.
